String Odyssey: Bach’s Mandolin, Guitar Tales and Banjo Chronicles with Joel Woods – July 1, 2pm

Joel Woods is a performer, composer, conductor and educator of plucked string instruments. Having grown up in North Queensland, Woods moved to Brisbane to pursue study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and graduating with a Masters in Music Studies (Guitar Performance) and going on to perform as a soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Mandolin Orchestra, Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra and The Australis Germany Tour. Riley Lee has been playing the shakuhachi for 50 years and was the first non-Japanese to attain the rank of dai shihan or Grand Master.
