The inaugural Rangebow Festival was fantastic and St Mary’s Montville was delighted to be part of the festivities!
The film program consisted of Faithfully Me (two stories of transgender Christians in the church), Mission: Joy! (a story of the friendship between the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu and finding happiness in troubled times), Off Country (from local filmmaker John Harvey following the journey of indigenous students finding their way in an elite private school) and 2020 and Regenerating Australia for the students of Montville State School (an imagining of a sustainable and flourishing Australia using the best wisdom and technology of right now.)
Rev’d Deb was joined by Muslim activist Elissa Parker and buddhist nun Khadro Lozang for an interfaith conversation musing about faith in our time and place.
The festival closed with a fantastic Celebration of Community in which we were joined by Bishop Jeremy, Andrea Kirwin, BJ Murphy, Lydia Fairhall and students of Maleny state school along with Mapleton Choir and Kim Kirkman’s Inspiration Choir!
