Taize and Evensong

Taize is a peaceful time of prayers, poetry, chants and restful silence based on the approach of the Taize community in France. Taizé is an ecumenical Christian community known for its simple and meditative style of worship. The emphasis on simplicity and space, providing a unique opportunity for reflection. The community is open to people of all denominations and welcomes visitors from all over the world.

Evensong is one of the treasures of the Anglican tradition – the office of sung evening prayer with the beauty of choral music.

In 2024 Taize and Evensong will occur on the first Sunday of the month as follows:

– Mar 3, 5pm – Taize
– Apr 7, 5pm – Taize
– May 5, 5pm – Taize
– June 2, 5pm – Evensong
– July 7, 5pm – Taize
– August 4, 5pm– Taize
– September 1, 5pm – Evensong
– October 6, 5pm – Taize
– November 3, 5pm– Taize (All Souls)
– December 1, 5pm Taize

Enjoy singing? We meet weekly with accomplished choral director Kim Kirkman to learn the chants and sacred songs we sing at Taize services and other occasions. You don’t need to read music and it’s free! Come along and join us!
